Rotary District 5170 is one of the most dynamic and innovative Rotary districts in the world, serving nearly 3,800 members through 63 Rotary clubs across the Greater Silicon Valley region of California. From the East Bay to Santa Cruz and throughout Silicon Valley, our members are united by a shared commitment to Service Above Self.
District 5170 is recognized as a global leader in membership growth and support of The Rotary Foundation, consistently ranking among the top-performing districts worldwide. Our clubs invest millions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours each year to address critical needs in our communities and around the globe, including education, environmental sustainability, youth leadership, disease prevention, clean water, and peacebuilding.

🌏 Service Across Borders | PDG Ramesh Hariharan’s Project Tour in Asia
Rotary service knows no boundaries.
During his project tour in Asia, PDG Ramesh Hariharan of Rotary District 5170 joined the Rotary Club of Hyderabad North, RI District 3150, in supporting the free distribution of 50 hearing amplifiers to individuals and families in need.
This meaningful initiative is a wonderful example of what happens when Rotarians connect across districts and countries with a shared commitment to Service Above Self.
By helping individuals experience the gift of hearing, this project goes beyond providing a device—it helps strengthen connection, communication, dignity, and quality of life.
We are grateful to PDG Ramesh and our fellow Rotarians in India for demonstrating how Rotary partnerships can Create Lasting Impact in communities around the world. 💙💛
