Rotary District 5170 – Greater Silicon Valley

Rotary District 5170 is one of the most dynamic and innovative Rotary districts in the world, serving nearly 3,800 members through 63 Rotary clubs across the Greater Silicon Valley region of California. From the East Bay to Santa Cruz and throughout Silicon Valley, our members are united by a shared commitment to Service Above Self.

District 5170 is recognized as a global leader in membership growth and support of The Rotary Foundation, consistently ranking among the top-performing districts worldwide. Our clubs invest millions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours each year to address critical needs in our communities and around the globe, including education, environmental sustainability, youth leadership, disease prevention, clean water, and peacebuilding.

# Public Memorial Service Honoring Rod Diridon Sr.

The Rotary District 5170 family is invited to join the community in celebrating the life and legacy of Rod Diridon Sr., a respected leader, advocate, and friend to many throughout our region.

Rod's dedication to public service, environmental stewardship, transportation innovation, and community leadership touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on Silicon Valley and beyond.

**Public Memorial Service**

📅 **Thursday, June 25, 2026**
🕑 **2:00 PM – 4:00 PM**
📍 **San Jose Civic Auditorium**

The memorial program will include:

* Reflections from government leaders, colleagues, and friends
* Musical performances by Symphony San Jose
* Honors presented by the United States Navy
* A celebration of Rod's remarkable life, leadership, and service

All are welcome to attend. **No RSVP is required.**

District 5170 extends its gratitude to Gloria Duffy and the Diridon family for sharing this invitation with our Rotary community. We encourage Rotarians throughout the District to attend and honor Rod's extraordinary legacy of service and leadership.
